Machining and Assembly of B. G. Loco Truck Frames &
Bolsters.

B. G. Loco Truck Frames (also called
Bogies) of Trimount and Flexicoil Design and Flexicoil Bolsters
are cast in Steel Foundry of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works. The
material is cast steel generally conforming to IS: 1030 grade.
Due to limited availability of
machining capacity in CLW, it is proposed to develop new sources
for machining and assembly. The relevant drawing nos. for
machining are (i) RDSO Drg. no. (i) SKDL-3812 Alt.9 & (ii)
SKDL-3813 Alt.8 for Trimount Truck Frame (Co-Co Bogie); (iii)
CLW Drg. no. 03/1/12/38 & (iv) 03/1/12/39 for Flexicoil Truck
Frame (Flexicoil Bogie); (v) RDSO Drg. no. 29.04.03 Alt.4 & (vi)
29.04.04 Alt.3 for Flexicoil Bolster.
Interested firms must have
sustained availability of heavy duty machine tools including
Plano Millers and horizontal boring machines suitable for
machining the specified locations on steel castings weighing
upto 4 to 5 MT and of size upto 5.5m(L), 2.7m(W) & 0.9m(H)
(maximum).
The firms keen
to participate in the process are requested to send in their
letter “Expressing their Interest” alongwith their credentials,
list of M&P, list of technical personnels, their capacity and
other relevant matters including terms & conditions to the
office of Chief Mechanical Engineer, Prod., Steel Foundry,
Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Chittaranjan – 713 331 (WB) at
the earliest. The firms are welcome to depute their technical
personnels to CLW/Chittaranjan for a site survey. Any further
clarification may be obtained from this office.
