Our Jurisdiction:

Railway Protection Force of CLW/Eastern Railways bears the responsibility to protect and safeguard Railway Property in Workshop as well as in CLW Township. The jurisdiction of RPF/CLW/Chittaranjan extends to the entire workshop and township area, which has been declared as a “Protected Area” by the Govt. of West Bengal vide order No. 871P dtd. 06.02.1971. It also includes the water pumping station situated over the Maithan Dam at Sidhabari, and the controller of stores office at Hindustan Building , Kolkata.

About Us:

Functionally, RPF unit in CLW is divided into five posts/units under the charge of an independent Inspector. These are:

Township Post: Having jurisdiction over the entire township area.

Mainshop Post: Having jurisdiction over the entire mainshop premises of the CLW.

Traction Motor Post: Having jurisdiction over the traction motor shop, the most sensitive portion from the security point of view as all the costly copper components and insulation tapes are dealt in this jurisdiction.

Steel Foundry Post: Having jurisdiction over the entire foundry and melting works.

Arms Wing Company: It is basically the arm wing of RPF/CLW having the jurisdiction over the ‘KOTE' where arms and ammunition are stored.

These apart two Intelligence Branches viz., Crime Intelligence Branch (dealing with criminal activities over railways) and Special Intelligence Branch (dealing with the political/union activities) are also there. To provide an additional support to all these posts one Dog Squad consisting of two nos. SNIFFER DOG is also functioning.
